COMPETITION TERMS

1. Competition organisers

• The competition is organised by the owners of The Old Chequers and their supporting team.

• In these Ts & Cs, The Old Chequers is used interchangeably with ‘competition organisers’, and should be assumed to refer to the owners of The Old Chequers and their supporting team.

 

2. Permissions granted

By entering this competition, you provide the competition organisers permission to:

• Print and display your photo at The Old Chequers, should you win the competition.

• Share your post on The Old Chequers social media and website.

• Use your photo for advertising purposes.

 

3. Rights

• The Old Chequers reserves the right to un-tag itself from any entry that is deemed inappropriate or does not conform to stated contest rules.

• The Old Chequers does not accept responsibility for any claims, damages, losses, expenses, costs or liabilities associated with this competition, and entrants of the competition agree as such.

• You choose, of your own free will, to participate in this competition.

• The competition rules may change, and any changes will be announced on the monthly entry-call post (shared on Facebook and Instagram).

 

4. Entry into the competition

To be considered for this competition, your photo must comply with the following guidelines:

• You took the photo yourself, or have permission to share the photo as your own.

• The photo was taken in Norfolk, UK, and the theme of the photo is “The Old Chequers”, “Norfolk activities and attractions”, “our holiday in Norfolk”, “Norfolk landscape and countryside”, or similar.

• The photo must be shared to Facebook or Instagram and you must follow the specified guidelines to successfully enter the competition.

• You can enter at any time, and your entry will be considered for all subsequent rounds (a winner is picked each month), or until that entry has won (at which point it will no longer be considered).

• For practical reasons, entries posted less than 24 hours before the last day of the month may or may not be considered for that month’s winner.

 

5. Competition prize

• The winner will receive a £200 discount on their next stay at The Old Chequers. The discount cannot be applied to a stay that was already booked prior to the date of winner announcement.

• All bookings at The Old Chequers must be for a minimum of 3 nights (7 nights during high season, including Christmas holidays), including stays booked by competition winners.

• Normal booking guidelines apply, including payment of cleaning fees and a security deposit.

• Any available dates can be booked (for a minimum stay of 3 nights during low season, and 7 nights minimum during high season), and the £200 discount will be subtracted from the total due. Available dates are visible in The Old Chequers booking calendar, on the official The Old Chequers website. Availability can also be confirmed by contacting the owners (contact details are available on the website: https://www.theoldchequers.co.uk/).

• The prize is not exchangeable for cash, and can only be redeemed by the winner through booking a stay at The Old Chequers.

 

6. Prize expiration date

• The prize will expire after 1 year.

• The winner must book their stay at The Old Chequers within a year from being announced as a winner, in order to qualify for the £200 discount. A successful booking may require a deposit to be paid.

• The stay does not have to occur within that period.

 

7. Winner selection

• The winner selection is at the discretion of the competition organiser and The Old Chequers team.

• The winner will be selected from all entries, including past entries. 

• The same person may win more than once, but each photo may only win once - ie. past winning photos will not be considered again.

• A new winner will be selected on the last day of the month and announced on Facebook and Instagram. 

 

8. Notifying the winner

• The winner will be contacted via Facebook or Instagram. 

• If no response is received after 5 business days, a new winner will be selected and the previous winner will forfeit all rights to the prize.

• In order to maintain contact with the winner (for administration surrounding the prize), we may require the winner to supply a name and email address.

 

9. Competition end

• The competition will start on 1 May 2022 and run until The Old Chequers announces its discontinuation on Facebook and Instagram.
