The Old Chequers has plenty of space, both in its living areas and large bedrooms. We have taken care to provide a luxury experience by fitting the bedrooms with top-quality bedding and imported down and feather pillows. The duvets are super comfortable and temperature regulating, made from high thread count cotton. The Master Bedroom is the epitome of a luxury room, with a large en suite, dressing room, ante room, and its own separate entrance from the pebbled driveway. The Ante Room has been furnished with a sofa-bed and TV, and we use it as a bedroom for our younger children when we visit. There is also a newly added bunk bed by the Master, providing families with sleeping space for an additional two kids.

Elevated above the lounge, the Holkham Room (Master Bedroom) offers a private sanctuary with serene views of the walled garden and stream. A spacious dressing area leads to the tranquil bedroom, complete with a sumptuous super-king bed, plush armchair, and elegant vanity. The underfloor-heated en suite features a freestanding bath, walk-in shower, and double basin, blending contemporary luxury with timeless comfort.
Brancaster Room
The Brancaster Room is a spacious retreat, featuring a super-king bed that can be split into twins, making it ideal for flexible sleeping arrangements. Often regarded as a second master bedroom, it offers extra space for a travel cot or blow-up mattress for younger children. The elegant en suite combines a bath and walk-in shower, providing convenience and comfort for families, while maintaining a sense of refined relaxation.
Thornham Room
The Thornham Room is a king-sized sanctuary, elegantly furnished with solid mango wood pieces that blend warmth and sophistication. Bathed in the afternoon sun, it sits next to the fourth bedroom, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere. The en suite features a sleek walk-in shower, combining comfort with understated luxury.
Wells-next-the-Sea Room
The Wells-next-the-Sea Room is a bright and inviting king-sized retreat, nestled between the Thornham Room and the Burnham Overy Staithe Room. Bathed in the afternoon sun, it offers views of the pebbled driveway and is appointed with a wardrobe and a comfortable armchair. The en suite features a bath-shower combination, perfectly blending convenience with relaxed elegance.
Burnham Overy Staithe Room
Located upstairs at the far end of the house, the Burnham Overy Staithe Room is a serene king-sized retreat, featuring a solid wood bed, matching bedside tables, and wardrobe. The en suite offers a sleek walk-in shower, while the bed is dressed in high-end linens and premium pillows, ensuring comfort and elegance in every detail.
Burnham Market Room
The Burnham Market Room, once the original entrance of the house, features a charming bay window and has been thoughtfully designed as wheelchair-friendly. This spacious bedroom offers a super-king bed that can be split into twins, complemented by a solid wood wardrobe, bedside tables, and two comfortable armchairs. The ensuite wet room shower combines practicality with refined comfort, creating an elegant and accessible retreat.

Each of our bedrooms feature its own full en suite. There is also an additional bathroom downstairs. Enjoy the comfort of added luxuries like branded robes and slippers, to use during your stay. The Master en suite is a large bathroom with a shower, luxurious bath, and underfloor heating for ultimate comfort.
